BIS Collection

I want to thank everyone for all the awesome names for my newest design! There were two that really stuck out, so I picked two winners. The hat itself will be named Zephyr, while all my new Spring designs will go under the BIS (Baby It's Spring) Collection. The newest addition to the collection is Deuce's Wild! It features a duo of colors and the band is attached with two pearly snaps. Be on the lookout for more colors!

Spring Hat Design: Name it and Win it!

While it's hardly been above 0 around here lately, I can't stop thinking of Spring! Weather changing, leaves budding, color everywhere, and of course it means I won't need a heavy jacket! With all this in mind, I set out to design the perfect hat for the new season. I used brightly colored linens and twills and made a simple brim piece that hangs low and looks really cute. The thing I love most about it are the clean lines and the wide band. While I can list all the things I like about it, I can't sum it all up in a few words. So I figured I would ask for some help! Come up with a name for my new Spring design and win one for yourself!

This contest will run until the end of this Saturday the 7th. Enter as many names as you can think of in one comment, each name counts for one entry. On Sunday I'll pick the one that seems most fitting and that person will win a hat in their color choice (10 in all to choose from! Seafoam and Berry are pictured) and in their size. Please leave an email address so I can contact the winner!

Good luck everyone, I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Free Shipping!

Thanks to everyone who entered my first blog contest! It was so much fun reading all the entries. The winner was AK and her favorite was Undercover in Holiday Plaid.

This bomber is something new I've been working on. I love the idea behind a traditional bomber but they're always way to big for me to wear! The earflaps go all the way past my shoulders and it just looks like something furry is eating my head. But my new design takes care of all those problems! I used a bright colored plaid and a white faux fur to make it girly, and the shape still does all the work of a traditional bomber by keeping the cold out. I wore this one ice skating yesterday and it was so great! The only real problems I had with the design were the silver snaps; I bought a pack of 10 to make 2 bombers, and ended up with only 1 snap left! Those first few got destroyed when I was hammering them in, there was a lot of swearing going on, but eventually I got the hang of it! Now I just need to find a use for the single snap that's left...

I plan to have another blog contest again around the end of February. Until then, enjoy free shipping for my favorite holiday! Valentine's Day is a time to share the love!

First blog post!

I'm so excited to be starting this blog! I'll be documenting my crafty escapades and putting up pictures of new designs, and I will definitely be having contests! I hope to have my first contest in a week or two. Until then, my latest favorite hat can be found to the left. I've been to countless thrift stores and the suits always catch my eye. If I were a male, I'd be buying them all up to wear! I love to find ones made from camel hair, they're so soft I want to rub my face against them. I found a suit a few weeks ago and couldn't pass it up. It became this great hat. I put one in my shop and have been wearing mine non-stop when I go out. It's wooly and warm but not at all itchy. The buttons were found on Etsy from a great seller, she was so helpful! I asked for a variety of 5 ozs of buttons and she sent me 10! This button has a small shield as some sort of a seal on it. I love the chic, clean look. I still have over half the suit left to create a new hat, and I have some cool ideas for it!
